POWER THE FUTURE
A GLOBAL EDUCATION INITIATIVE

OUR MISSION

"Tell me, I'll forget. Show me, I'll remember. Involve me, I'll understand"- Benjamin Franklin

At Power the Future our mission is to combine innovation and the enthusiasm of today’s youth to create a powerful initiative to help end energy poverty for the needy children.

Our strategy is to empower students to learn about Energy Poverty based on STEAM with a focus on leadership training, to search for sustainable solutions and to be involved and participate in the implementation and delivery of these solutions. Our programs facilitate teaching & learning across curriculum by engaging students in as global citizens and leaders in forging a new future.

Power the Future aims to harness the power of united  students focusing to help over 300 Million underprivileged children around the world in receiving solar energy and as a consequence live healthier, improve their study conditions and give them greater hope and opportunity for their futures.

Why?  You may well ask …

Unknown to a significant portion of the developed world’s population is that that there are still 1.2 billion people across the globe living off the grid. Living with what they can cobble up and the use of Kerosene as their primary fuel source.  20% of these disadvantaged people are children, but they are absolutely 100% of our future.

In today’s world, energy is an essential to the support of life, as is shelter, food, water and  air. It is  not a privilege, especially for children.

"Energy poverty condemns billions to darkness; ill health unfulfilled futures and repeated cycles of poverty."

- UN Foundation

WHO WE ARE

Warriors for a better world

HOW WE DO & WHAT WE DO

Power the Future is a Social Enterprise organisation specialising in the development and distribution of learning kits

based on solar technologies for all grades of students to match school needs and curriculum requirements.

By exposing the children to the real world problems and offering learning kits as solutions to those problems.

We empower learning based on projects (PBL) and help them become responsible Global Citizens.

Facilitation in education is art. We make learning rewarding, engaging and impactful.

The fruit of the Project Based Learning programs, these learning kits are then gifted to children in need in

impoverished villages and schools that are off the grid.

Power the Future programs offer an engaging cross-curriculum project that unites subjects to work together in the entire grade/school/after-school club. It is one unique vehicle that merges Geography, Humanity with STEAM classes, as well as the 17 UN SDGs.

It is Engaging, Collaborative, Innovative and Life Changing

"If we teach our children the old way, we are depriving them of their future" - John Dewey.

At Power The Future, we work with schools to design PBL projects that integrate curriculum which offers the students intensive & extensive learning experience, at the same time keeping track of academic goals.  Tools are available for executing the projects.

Students become curious learners and ask more questions than memorize answers delivered in our traditional teaching.  We help cultivate leadership, global citizenship, global competence in our children as they are the future owners of our planet.

Power The Future also helps the beneficiary schools in the developing countries to implement the same amount of teaching when they receive solar lights from their partner schools who lead the collaborative project.

OUR 6 CORE MISSION OBJECTIVES

Latest Stories

Whilst our overarching mission is to put solar lighting into the homes of the impoverished,

we have a number of key objectives that we like to achieve along that journey.

Our program is not one of "please donate", but more a "please participate" opportunity and when you participate, a whole world of personal enrichment goals for teachers, students, their families and the entire school community can be achieved.

It is an unique program that allows the participants to actually see who their contributions and involvement will benefit

and more importantly see they can make a huge difference in someone's life by a mere participation.
